Well, I had my first official Mother's Day and it was great. Chris called my first official Out-of-the-Womb Mother's Day.
Chris took Josiah to church, so I could get ready all by myself. It's amazing something as small as getting ready by yourself could mean so much! At church we honored all the spiritual mothers who have been serving the children at the church. I gave a little speech and then handed out some potted flowers. Josiah and I came home after the announcement in the second service while Chris stayed to serve in the nursery. He got home, and we had some lunch. Josiah and I took a couple of pictures together while we were all dressed up (in the album). We played for a little bit, then it was nap time. Josiah took an extra long nap yesterday. I think that was his gift to me!
It was nice to be able to just spend some time with each other, since life has been pretty crazy for The Greenwoods. I enjoyed reflecting on my thankfulness to God for Josiah. The Lord has truly blessed us with a great baby! I am so thankful for the opportunity to stay home with Josiah each day and to invest in him. I have waited years to be able to stay at home to support and encourage my family. I can say it is well worth the wait!
I am also very thankful for God's blessing in a great husband. Even before we had Josiah, he would celebrate Mother's Day. He would let me know that he looked forward to the day when we had children of our own and how proud he was of me for investing in the lives of my students. I have to admit this Mother's Day was even better because I have finally started my ministry of raising a family with a godly husband.
