Birthday Weekend

Well, we've had a very busy, but fun weekend.  Friday was Chris' 33rd birthday, so I tried to surprise him by having some of our friends over.  I ended up telling him how many were coming because I could tell he was having a stressful week, and I didn't want him to be miserable the whole time.  So we had our little family, the two Korean girls, two of our youth, the McLeods and the Corsos.  I made Chris one of his favorite meals, lasagna with beef and pepperoni and bread from Wegman's.   For dessert, I made him Lemon Icebox Pie.  There is a lot of pressure to make this pie because he is used to having his Granny make it...and let's be honest it is hard to compete with any recipe a granny makes.  Smile After the kiddos went to bed, Chris and I headed over to the church to decorate for Sophie's birthday party.  It was so nice for John and Jen to stay while we went to the church--it made our Saturday that more relaxing.

We got up Saturday morning and completed some last minute food items for Sophie's party.  Sophie was able to take a little nap before we headed to the church which was nice.  There are LOTS of pictures in her birthday album, so please take a minute to look at them.  Even though we didn't have our immediate family here to celebrate, Sophie sure was loved on by all of our VA family.  She had her adopted grandparents (the Stilwells) and LOTS of adopted aunts, uncles and cousins (the Dages, the Corsos, the McLeods, the Byrum-Bouttes, the Pintos,  and the Manettis).

Today is going to be another busy day, but more with church stuff.  We won't see much of Chris today because he is going to a HFG to share some new changes coming to our church plus he has youth.  So I will head home with all four kids and get them fed and hopefully, we will all have a quiet rest time.
