30 years

Well, it's official...I've been on this earth for 30 years now. I've heard people talk about how their 30th birthday was hard because you are another decade older, but I don't feel a bit different than I did last night when I went to bed at 29. I guess I've always liked my birthday because I look at it as a chance to have another year to grow wiser. This year I will have LOTS to learn as I learn to be a mother to Josiah. As I sit here, I realize how much of a privilege it is to be his mother.

On Monday, I got some very sad news. One of my friends from work lost her baby as she was delivering him. She was 2 weeks from her due date and didn't have any problems during her pregnancy. I've been asking, "Why?" a lot this week. During this time, I've also realized that I have no right to complain when Josiah won't go to sleep at night or he won't take a nap during the day or when I've only gotten a few hours of sleep. I'm sure my friend would love to have the opportunity to hold her crying baby who won't go to sleep and to be awakened in the middle of the night to feed her baby. I ask that you pray for her as she goes through this time of sorrow. I can only imagine what she is going through, and I'm sure it isn't even close to what she is really feeling.

Chris heard from the church in VA today. They are meeting tonight to discuss him and the position. Hopefully, we will hear something by next week. We will let you know something as soon as we hear from them.

Josiah has finally gotten over his colic. He has been going to bed around 9:30pm and sleeps anywhere from 4:00am to 5:00am! Eventually, we will get him to bed earlier so Mommy and Daddy can have some adult time, but we are just thankful that he isn't crying for 3-4 hours at night. It really broke our hearts to hear him crying and being in such pain.

We hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for all the prayers that have been sent up on my behalf over the years and the prayers that are being sent up on Josiah's behalf over the last few months!
